The mounting frame is exclusively used for directly receiving attachments. Only screws are permitted for attaching the mounting frame at the chassis frame. The mounting frame needs not to cover the entire chassis frame up to the cab - as is the case with the subframe. (see item 3.3.3. Figure: Bracket attachment with cross-member mounting frame)

The mounting frames does not meet any strength requirements to protect the vehicle chassis.
